The Big Picture: Current Policy & Political Landscape

It’s important to understand the political context as we advocate
for additional funds and policy changes. Attendees will learn
what’s happening in Washington and how to consider context
when meeting with legislators.

This session outlines AACTE priorities for the reauthorization of the
Higher Education Act and appropriations spending bills. Attendees
will also learn about legislation AACTE is helping to draft and
the implications of budget reconciliation.

What is Advocacy and Why is it Important?

Attendees will learn about the importance of using their voice to help
support teacher candidates and education preparation programs.

Using the Legislative Priorities for an Effective Hill Meeting

AACTE Advisory Committee on Government Relations and Advocacy
Learn how to use AACTE’s legislative priorities when meeting with
your congressional delegation.

Policy Makers of Either Party and Effectively Tell Your Story
