Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Membership Operations develops and implements programs to support the overall membership strategy to generate awareness, participation, and revenue growth from our membership.  This includes executing recruitment and membership campaigns designed to support and engage members and demonstrate a relevant value proposition to member institutions. This position is fully remote with travel for meetings as described below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Membership Growth
  • Implement membership strategies, plans, and tactics to promote the value of AACTE membership for members.
  • Coordinate member recruitment and retention plans.
  • Track, analyze, and report on member growth activities, program metrics and performance against goals.
  1. Member Communications
  • Develop comprehensive membership communications plan including key messages by member segment, annual cycle of communications based on AACTE activities and goals for member engagement.
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to develop and distribute all market-specific outreach and collateral material to effectively communicate the value of AACTE membership including association membership materials.
  • Collaborate with Database Administrator to evaluate quality of member data and recommend methods to enhance data collection and analysis to inform plans for member engagement.
  1. External Relations and Volunteer Management
  • Implement defined articulation of the AACTE desired image and position, ensure consistent communication of brand and position throughout the association and with constituencies, both internal and external.
  • Under the leadership of the Senior Director, elevate and promote the work of the association through partnership development / engagement.
  • Serve on various committees as needed.

  • Lead the development and implementation of organizational data analytic practices, performance and operational metrics and financial forecasting to develop, track, and report on project plans and metrics to accomplish strategic priorities.
  • Organize multiple projects simultaneously, track data and metrics, provide regular updates to stakeholders, and respond quickly with accurate answers when questioned.
  • Exercise sound independent judgement and coach staff on prioritizing workload according to AACTE strategic objectives when faced with competing deadlines on critical projects.

Inquiry & Innovation

  • Extend the reach and reputation of AACTE through articulating its value proposition, vision, and mission across diverse range of external audiences.
  • Support the development of strategic plans and business growth goals in alignment with alignment with AACTE’s mission, purpose, and strategic goals.
  • Champion new ideas to grow the organization and build our culture and create/manage change processes to advance the organization in the envisioned direction.
  • Challenges assumptions and status quo using rational argument and evidence, and then experience.
  • Identify key professional working relationships and proactively develops them over time.
  • Keep abreast of knowledge, outside developments, and trends in the field, share relevant information with employees and/or coach them to do the same.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Up to 30% travel will be required, typically to the National Office in Washington, DC, Board of Director meetings, or conference locations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, or related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • Five years of program management or membership operations experience in a membership based non-profit.
  • Outstanding communication (oral and written) influencing and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with expertise in developing/reporting on both quantitative and qualitative metrics.
  • Exceptional time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet both deadlines and quality standards.
  • Exceptional written, interpersonal, and communication skills with commitment to a high level of customer service.
  • Experience with Impexium AMS highly desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS

When in the national office, working conditions are characteristic of an office setting.  Work is performed in an area that is adequately lighted and ventilated.  When working remotely, staff must adhere to guidelines set forth in the AACTE Remote Work Policy. Physical demands required to perform work include walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base pay for this position is $79,000 – $113,000 DOQ, plus a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance coverages, as well as generous leave time; and 403b and/Roth IRA retirement plans with employer match after 6 months.
