Leveraging Mentorship, Allyship, and Support through Holmes Scholars

The University of Central Florida’s (UCF) Holmes Program has been recognized with the 2024 AACTE Best Practice Award for its exceptional efforts in supporting graduate students of color in education. This accolade underscores the program’s success in fostering an inclusive and empowering environment for doctoral students through innovative mentoring, allyship, and support. The Holmes Scholars Program at UCF emphasizes academic excellence, leadership in education, and collaborative research in social justice, preparing scholars for impactful careers in academia and policy discussions. This AACTE Lunch & Learn will highlight how the program’s comprehensive approach to mentoring and professional development contributes to the empowerment of doctoral students, setting a new standard for excellence in higher education.
