Programs & Initiatives

AACTE addresses a range of professional issues through its programming. In addition to signature work in areas such as advocacy, events, and professional learning, the Association collaborates on several services for its members.

Holmes Program

  • Supports students who self-identify as racially and ethnically diverse
  • Supports students who are pursuing graduate degrees in education at AACTE member institutions.
  • Provides mentorship, peer support, and professional development opportunities

Special Education

  • Serves students with disabilities through the preparation of special and inclusive educators
  • A partnership with the CEEDAR Center supports the infusion of disability-related programming and messaging
  • Includes six guiding considerations for AACTE’s work in special and inclusive education

Internationalization

  • Plays a key role in facilitating the success of principal leadership
  • Delivers high-quality school leader preparation programs
  • Engages higher education and PK-12 partners in research, professional development opportunities

On July 1, 2024, new federal regulations took effect for all institutions that participate in Title IV student aid programs and offer programs leading to state professional licensure or certification. In response, AACTE prepared a detailed FAQ.
