Lunch with Lynn – Prepare for the Next Generation of Advocacy Work

Join AACTE on Tuesday, April 30, at 1:00 p.m. EST for Lunch with Lynn, where AACTE President & CEO Lynn M. Gangone will explore the topic of advocacy with guests Michael Yudin of the Raben Group and 2024 AACTE David E. Imig Award winner and former AACTE senior vice president Jane E. West, Ph.D. To move forward and prepare for the road ahead, champions of teacher education must understand the history of advocacy efforts in the education arena.

Lynn M. Gangone, Ed.D., CAE
President & CEO
AACTE (American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education)

Lynn M. Gangone, Ed.D., CAE, has served as AACTE’s president & CEO since 2017, her fourth higher education association leadership role. As president & CEO, Gangone works to elevate AACTE’s values: diversity, equity, and inclusion; quality and impact; and inquiry and innovation. As an experienced campus senior administrator, lobbyist and policy analyst, association executive, and dean/faculty member, Gangone brings a unique perspective to her work. Her experience includes work at the New York State and New Jersey State Education Departments, Centenary University (NJ), Maryland Independent College and University Association, University of Denver, and American Council on Education. She has held faculty appointments at two Colleges of Education, George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development and at University of Denver’s Morgridge College of Education. Gangone received an Ed.D. and M.Ed. from Columbia University’s Teachers College.

Jane E. West, Ph.D. has been active in the policy making world in Washington D.C. for 40 years, as a staffer in the U.S. Senate, a government relations expert for numerous national associations, and a consultant to a range of federal agencies. She holds a doctorate from the University of Maryland and has developed and taught doctoral policy courses for the University of Maryland, Virginia Commonwealth University, and the Higher Education Consortium for Special Education. She is the author of Advocating for the Common Good People, Politics, Process, and Policy on Capitol.

After more than two decades of advocating for equitable opportunities for educationally disadvantaged children and youth within the federal government, Michael K. Yudin now helps Raben’s clients navigate the educational terrain through his role as principal in our government affairs practice.
