Lunch with Lynn – What is on the Horizon

Join AACTE on Tuesday, March 26, at 1:00 p.m. EST for Lunch with Lynn, where we will highlight the work of the AACTE 2024 Edward C. Pomeroy Award for Outstanding Contributions to Teacher Education Winner, Kimberly A. White-Smith, Ed.D.

White-Smith, who is also dean and professor at the School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego and vice president of the California Council on Teacher Education, will join AACTE President and CEO Lynn M. Gangone, Ed.D. to share her insight on the realm of teacher education. The discussion will range in topics from planning for the future landscapes of education, identifying barriers within the realm and how to overcome them, and highlighting opportunities to collaborate with professionals nationwide to advance your program.

Lynn M. Gangone, Ed.D., CAE has served as AACTE’s president & CEO since 2017, her fourth higher education association leadership role. As president & CEO, Gangone works to elevate AACTE’s values: diversity, equity, and inclusion; quality and impact; inquiry and innovation. As an experienced campus senior administrator, lobbyist and policy analyst, association executive, and dean/faculty member, Gangone brings a unique perspective to her work. Her experience includes work at the New York State and New Jersey State Education Departments, Centenary University (NJ), Maryland Independent College and University Association, University of Denver, and American Council on Education. She has held faculty appointments at two Colleges of Education, George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development and at University of Denver’s Morgridge College of Education. Gangone received an Ed.D. and M.Ed. from Columbia University Teachers

Kimberly A. White-Smith, recent recipient of the AACTE Edward C. Pomeroy Award for Outstanding Contributions to Teacher Education, is the dean and professor at the School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES) at the University of San Diego (USD) and vice president of the California Council on Teacher Education. She has over 25 years dedicated to urban schooling and educator development, and has been a fervent advocate for academic justice, particularly for marginalized communities.
