Join us on Tuesday, January 30 at 1:00 p.m. EST for Lunch with Lynn where we will highlight AACTE’s work to engage members in internationalization — one of the areas of focus for the 2024 Annual Meeting. For the first session of 2024, AACTE’s President and CEO Lynn M. Gangone will host Margery McMahon and Sarah Anderson from the University of Glasgow, an AACTE member institution, to explore, strategize, and impact policy and practice to improve educator preparation internationally. 

This session is a special preview of a featured session at the AACTE 2024 Annual Meeting and provides attendees with an exclusive opportunity to join the conversation and ask questions about internationalization. Register online now to access this unique session.

Lynn M. Gangone, Ed.D., CAE
President & CEO
AACTE (American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education) 

Lynn M. Gangone, Ed.D., CAE has served as AACTE’s president & CEO since 2017, her fourth higher education association leadership role. As president & CEO, Gangone works to elevate AACTE’s values: diversity, equity, and inclusion; quality and impact; inquiry and innovation. As an experienced campus senior administrator, lobbyist and policy analyst, association executive, and dean/faculty member, Gangone brings a unique perspective to her work. Her experience includes work at the New York State and New Jersey State Education Departments, Centenary University (NJ), Maryland Independent College and University Association, University of Denver, and the American Council on Education. She has held faculty appointments at two Colleges of Education, George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development and at the University of Denver’s Morgridge College of Education. Gangone received an Ed.D. and M.Ed. from Columbia University Teachers 

Sarah Anderson, Ph.D.
Senior Lecturer and Department Head of Pedagogies, Praxis & Faith
University of Glasgow 

Sarah Anderson is a senior lecturer in education at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Anderson taught high school English, social subjects, and special education. Anderson was also a Fulbright Scholar to Norway in 2011-2012. Before moving to the United Kingdom, Anderson worked as a teacher educator in the United States as an associate professor and accreditation coordinator. She has instructed graduate and undergraduate pedagogical and special education courses, advised capstone portfolios and dissertations, and supervised clinical experiences. Her research interests include teacher evaluation, continuous improvement efforts, comparative education, educational policy, and effective instructional strategies. She is currently the BERA SIG convenor for Scotland for Teacher Preparation and Development and department head of Teacher Education at Glasgow. 

Margery McMahon
Professor of Educational Leadership
University of Glasgow 

Margery A McMahon is a professor of educational leadership and formerly head of the School of Education at the University of Glasgow (2019-23). She was chair of the Scottish Council of Deans of Education 2022-23. Formerly a teacher of history and politics, McMahon’s research focuses on teacher education, professional standards, career-long professional learning, and leadership learning.
