State Affiliates
AACTE collaborates with state educator preparation organizations to strengthen collective advocacy efforts, share experience and expertise, and expand members’ professional development opportunities. AACTE’s relationship with these organizations is a voluntary mutual affiliation that advances members’ interests.
The presidents or designated liaisons from state organizations comprise the Advisory Council of State Representatives (ACSR), which serves as an advisory committee to the AACTE Board of Directors on state issues and facilitates collaboration among state organizations and between those groups and AACTE. The members of ACSR elect an executive committee that is responsible for planning and leading ACSR meetings, including the ACSR Business Meeting at the AACTE Annual Meeting and the State Leaders Institute during Washington Week. ACSR is led by an Executive Committee.
About ACSR
AACTE has a relationship with 41 state associations of colleges for teacher education. The presidents from these state AACTE affiliate organizations comprise the Advisory Council of State Representatives (ACSR), which operates as the governing body of the affiliates. The primary purpose of ACSR is to serve as a collaborative network for state association leaders across the nation and to represent state-level perspectives in AACTE activities as well as help identify important issues for AACTE to monitor and manage.
ACSR elects an Executive Committee which convenes the state associations and manages programming to develop state association organizational capacity and policy advocacy. The chair, chair-elect, and past chair of ACSR serve on the AACTE Board of Directors.
