State Affiliate Organizations
State-level advocacy occurs primarily through AACTE’s network of affiliated state organizations. AACTE has a relationship with 38 state associations of colleges for teacher education. AACTE collaborates with these organizations to strengthen collective advocacy efforts, share experience and expertise, and expand members’ professional development opportunities. AACTE’s relationship with these organizations is a voluntary mutual affiliation that advances members’ interests.
Advisory Council of State Representatives
Leaders from state AACTE affiliate organizations comprise the Advisory Council of State Representatives (ACSR). The primary purpose of ACSR is to serve as a collaborative network for state association leaders across the nation and to represent state-level perspectives in AACTE activities as well as help identify important issues for AACTE to monitor and manage.
ACSR elects an Executive Committee which convenes the state associations and manages programming to develop state association organizational capacity and policy advocacy.

AACTE is pleased to announce that ACSR has completed its nomination and election process for new members of the Executive Committee for 2026-27. Please join us in congratulating the following leaders:
Chair – Elect: Meghan Salyers, Bismarck State College (ND)
Northeast Region Representative: Victoria (Tory) McHugh, University of Delaware
Midwest Region Representative: Sara Skretta, University of Nebraska
The new Executive Committee officers will begin their terms in March 2026.
