Who: The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) welcomes Sharon P. Robinson, Ed.D., president and CEO of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE), as their distinguished lecturer along with more than 11,000 superintendents, central office employees, principals and teachers at their 62nd Annual Conference.
What: Dr. Robinson’s keynote, entitled, “Preparing the Whole Teacher to Teach the Whole Child, discusses policy and advocacy efforts to support the whole child and the implications for teacher education. This distinguished lecture series draws on the parallels between the work of ASCD’s Commission on the Whole Child and the preparation of teachers who themselves are “whole” and able to educate students holistically. Robinson will connect whole teachers to the definition of a highly qualified teacher as NCLB is reauthorized. Her remarks address learning as it relies on alliances among parents, educators, policymakers and the community to strengthen the education landscape.
When: Saturday, March 17, 2007 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Anaheim Convention Center, 800 West Katella Avenue, Anaheim, C.A. 92802. For directions call 714 765.8950
