State Leaders Institute
Online registration closes and the hotel discount ends on May 10 for the 2019 AACTE State Leaders Institute!
Each year, AACTE provides the opportunity for AACTE state chapter leaders to gather together in Washington, DC to build on the connections and collaborations that emerge from the ACSR monthly region calls. The State Leaders Institute (SLI), held during Washington Week in June, is a professional development meeting for ACSR, AACTE's state chapter presidents, and their leadership teams.
Each year’s agenda is designed to meet the needs of the AACTE state chapter leadership in their capacity to serve their membership and support the profession overall in their states. The 2019 State Leaders Institute, on June 2-3, focuses on development of the capacity of the chapter and its leadership. Learn how to develop a chapter leadership pipeline, how social media engagement can augment the capacity and reach of your chapter, the basics of working with the media, and more. A consistent highlight is hearing from the AACTE State Chapter Support Grant recipients on their work and garnering ideas for your state chapter’s application. Review the working agenda.
SLI provides a platform to engage and network with state chapter leaders from across the country, explore the policy trends, develop your leadership skills, and share best practices to meet the needs of your teacher candidates and the faculty and staff that prepare them.
