2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. EDT

Many of AACTE’s member institutions are highly engaged in the implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and are actively working alongside PK-12 administrators, teachers, and parents to prepare students. As a first in a two-part series, this webinar will  highlight educator preparation programs in Kentucky that are effectively implementing strategies to develop teachers ready to prepare PK-12 students for college- and career-ready standards. You’ll learn about the successful work of the Kentucky Association of Colleges for Teacher Education and AACTE member institutions in Kentucky – the first state to adopt and implement the CCSS – to align their educator preparation programs with the standards. Discover how the institutions used a communication strategy, community involvement, policy advancement and alignment, and professional development and capacity building for successful implementation.
