Submission Guidelines

Content Standards

All submissions are reviewed against the following standards. Please review carefully before submitting.

Submission Specifications

Word Count 2,500–8,000 words (research); 800–1,500 words (commentary)
File Format Microsoft Word (.docx) or Google Doc link
Citation Style APA 7th Edition
Abstract 150–250 words; required for research articles
Keywords 4–6 terms that reflect core topics
Figures / Tables Embedded in document; high resolution (300 dpi+)
Blind Review Remove all identifying author information
Response Time Initial decision within 6–8 weeks

Ethical Requirements

  • IRB / Ethics ApprovalResearch involving human subjects must include IRB approval number or exemption documentation.
  • Conflict of InterestDisclose any financial or professional relationships that could be perceived as a conflict of interest.
  • Originality DeclarationWork must not be under review elsewhere or published previously in any form.

Content Do’s

  • Anchor in EvidenceGround all claims in peer-reviewed literature, data, or clearly framed professional experience.
  • Serve PractitionersConnect findings or arguments to actionable implications for program faculty, candidates, and administrators.
  • Center EquityEngage meaningfully with issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion as they relate to educator preparation.
  • Clear MethodologyResearch articles must include transparent, replicable descriptions of design, data, and analysis.

Content Don’ts

  • No Promotional ContentSubmissions must not primarily serve to promote a specific program, product, or organization.
  • No Unsupported GeneralizationsAvoid sweeping claims about “all teachers” or “all programs” not supported by evidence.
  • No Jargon Without DefinitionTechnical or specialized terms must be defined upon first use for a broad scholarly audience.
