All AACTE member institution personnel are strongly encouraged to become involved in AACTE programs and events. Remember, this is your association, and there are many ways to take advantage of its opportunities and to get involved! Some key opportunities and AACTE contacts are listed below.
Submit a Proposal for Annual Meeting
AACTE member institution personnel are encouraged to submit session proposals in the spring for the following year's Annual Meeting. Members will also have a chance to participate as reviewers between mid-May and mid-June, evaluating submissions for the AACTE Annual Meetings & Exhibits. For additional information on this excellent professional development opportunity, please contact Matt Wales at
Attend the Annual Meeting & Exhibits
The AACTE Annual Meeting & Exhibits is one of the largest and most content-rich yearly convenings of teacher educators. Each Annual Meeting is designed to have broad appeal and specifically address timely professional issues. Event opportunities include a wide variety of sessions by leading speakers, networking opportunities, and education-related exhibits. AACTE holds association votes on topics ranging from the election of the Board of Directors to approval of association initiatives. Enfranchised individuals are notified via email of voting opportunities. We strongly encourage enfranchised individuals to participate in the voting process. Your vote counts!
Volunteer for Committee Service
Any individual from an AACTE member institution, regardless of representative status, is eligible to be selected for participation on our standing committees. Support AACTE's Efforts to Advocate for Teacher Preparation
AACTE provides up-to-the-minute congressional updates on education legislation and often encourages member institutions to contact their congressional representatives when such contact is deemed crucial to the particular legislative issue. AACTE also provides talking points and tips on ensuring the most meaningful contact with legislators to make the process as easy and effective as possible. We strongly encourage member institution personnel to become involved in the advocacy process. Help us help you! For additional information, please click here or contact Mary Harrill-McClellan at
