Each presentation is between 60 – 90 minutes in length. They can be conducted in person or virtually through our webinar platform or Skype
This session provides an overview of policy and professional issues facing the profession, AACTE’s engagement in these issues, and recommendations for how institutions and chapters can position themselves in this changing landscape.
In this session, an AACTE staff representative will outline critical strategies to help your chapter increase its advocacy capacity using resources that AACTE has developed in this area. The presentation will also provide updates on federal policy developments relevant to the profession, the Administration’s initiatives and funding.
This session takes an in-depth look at working effectively with members of the media. From newspaper reporters to TV producers, you will discover ways to build relationships with the media and/or work through your communications contacts to better advance positive messaging about your programs to the public.
This session provides an overview of public relations and the vital role it plays in your state chapters and programs. You will explore topics that include media relations, effective proactive and reactive public relations tactics, crisis communications and the steps to beginning and implementing a strategic public relations plan.
This session provides an overview and in-depth review of the development of college and career ready standards, such as the common core state standards. Topics covered in this section include: the history and development of the common core standards, the fundamental shifts of the standards and the implications for pre-service teachers and programs, key resources for preparation programs and advocating for the standards.
This session will serve as an overview and update for teacher preparation providers on edTPA, a subject-specific performance-based assessment for initial licensure teacher candidates. An AACTE staff representative will discuss the merits of edTPA including development, implementation, support and landscape on usage among AACTE members.
Each session is between 90 – 120 minutes in length. They must be conducted in person as they provide hands on opportunities for members to develop or strengthen their expertise in these areas
An AACTE staff representative will work with your chapter to develop, or update the strategic plan for your chapter, develop goals for the upcoming year and identify priorities and responsibilities for the chapter.
An AACTE staff representative will work with institutions in your state to develop or reinvigorate a chapter. This workshop could include including developing a strategic plan, establishing financial supports and establishing roles within your organization.
