Taking Stock and Looking Forward: Building on a Decade of Teacher Performance Assessment
The PACT and edTPA Implementation Conference will be convened November 1-3, 2012 at the University of San Diego. This conference will support two consortia engaging in the implementation of teacher performance assessments.
PACT Implementation Conference: Thursday, November 01, 2012
The PACT Implementation Conference will be on November 1. Conference check-in begins at 8:30am. A state-wide committee comprised of PACT-experienced faculty has planned workshops and discussions that address current issues for use of the assessment. The day is structured to support the range of needs of faculty and universities working to sustain the assessment as an educative tool. This day will include a plenary session on policy regarding student-teacher performance assessments in California, and concurrent sessions designed for the unique needs of programs using PACT. Fee for this day includes admission to the keynote on Friday, November 2.

The edTPA Conference will be on November 2-3. Conference check-in begins at 8:00am on Friday, November 2nd followed by a keynote address delivered by Linda Darling Hammond at 9am. Breakout sessions will follow and continue through Saturday, November 3rd until 4pm. The conference is an annual two-day gathering of higher education administrators, faculty and supervisors and state education agencies (SEAs) who are seeking to deepen their understanding of the Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA) and network within a learning community of edTPA users. Attendees will benefit from attending workshops and discussions that support implementation and emphasize edTPA's educative elements for candidates and its program renewal potential.

The 2012 PACT edTPA Implementation Conference is located at the Mother Rosalie Hill Hall on the campus of the University of San Diego. Mother Rosalie Hill Hall is located on the northwest corner of campus, at the top of the hill after entering campus via the west entrance.

From the airport
The University of San Diego is located 6 miles northeast of the San Diego International Airport. USD is a short ride from the San Diego Airport, and many of the hotels offer shuttle service to and from the airport. While the university shuttle service will not be available to us this year to transport from the airport, participants will receive an update on transportation information including shuttle service in the coming weeks.
There is no fee for guest parking on USD campus. Please obtain a visitor’s permit from the guard at the West Entrance Welcome Kiosk and park in the West Parking Structure. Take the West campus loop tram to the main area of campus. This tramp stops at the top of the hill, across the street from Mother Rosalie Hill or the Institute of Peace and Justice (IPJ).
**Note** it’s only about 1/4 mile at most from the parking structure to Mother Rosalie Hill Hall; however there is a steep hill between the structure and Hill Hall. On the campus map, please note the West Entrance off of Linda Vista Road, the West Parking Structure (#2) and Hill Hall (#5).
Taxis are able to drop you off at USD Hill Hall. When entering campus, inform the guard you are going to Hill Hall and you will be directed accordingly.
USD provides a free shuttle from Old Town San Diego that drops you off at the West Parking
