![]() PROGRAMS AND ISSUES ![]() While pedagogical knowledge and content knowledge are key in the preparation of high-quality teachers, teacher education is more than this. AACTE offers many programs to further the professional development of teacher education faculty. These programs range from strengthening the standards in preparation programs to helping programs achieve and maintain accreditation, from school leadership preparation to diversity issues, from building alliances with the arts and science faculties to understanding the federal agenda that influences teacher preparation, and from working with state chapters to training new deans of education. This section contains information on the many programs and issues in which AACTE is involved.
