- Call for Proposals: Conference on Postsecondary Education and Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities
November 3-4, 2011, Northern Virginia George Mason University and the National Down Syndrome Society will sponsor the 2011 State of the Art Conference on Postsecondary Education and Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities at the George Mason Inn and Conference Center. AACTE also is a cosponsor of the event. Proposals for presentations are due April 30.
- AACTE is a partner in the Consortium to Enhance Postsecondary Education for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. It conducts research, provides training and technical assistance and disseminates information on promising practices that support individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Just recently, it developed and launched a new Web site, www.ThinkCollege.net. The Consortium is funded by a grant from the Administration on Developmental Disabilities.
Note: The Consortium is led by the Institute of Community Inclusion at the University of Massachusetts in collaboration with seven University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCED) – Delaware, Minnesota, Hawaii, South Carolina, Tennessee (Vanderbilt), Ohio, California and the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD). - The Federal Student Aid website has posted the instructions on how to apply to be a Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary Program so that students will be eligible for financial aid. Learn more...
